Deutsch: Der Markt Zellingen besteht seit 1978 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Zellingen, Retzbach und Duttenbrunn. Der rote Großbuchstabe Z wurde dem alten Gerichtssiegel von Zellingen entnommen, das durch Abdruck seit 1691 überliefert ist. Der silberne Schrägbalken, der mit drei blauen Ringen belegt ist, sowie die drei silbernen Spitzen in Rot, der so genannte fränkische Rechen, geben in abgeänderter Form das Dorfgerichtssiegel der Gemeinde Retzbach wieder, das der Würzburger Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573 bis 1617) dem Ort 1586 verliehen hatte. Der silberne Schrägbalken, belegt mit drei blauen Ringen, im blauen Feld ist das persönliche Wappen des Fürstbischofs. Zusammen mit dem fränkischen Rechen weist es auf die Zugehörigkeit des Gemeindegebiets zum Hochstift Würzburg. |
