Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Bauerschaft Heide, 1904 in Stadtwald umbenannt, seit 1910 Stadtteil von Essen: „In Grün fünf goldene (gelbe) Eichen im Verhältnis 3:2; zwischen den beiden unteren ein aufrechtes goldenes Schwert.“ Das Wappen wurde von Kurt Schweder entworfen und hatte nie offiziellen Charakter. Ende der 1980er Jahre schuf der Heraldiker für alle Essener Stadtteile Wappen. Sie sind inzwischen von der Essener Bevölkerung gut angenommen worden. Es handelt sich hier um ein klassisches "redendes Wappen", das Schwert steht für "Stadt-", als Attribut der Stadtpatrone Cosmas und Damian stellt den Bezug zum Essener Stadtwappen her. Die Eichen stehen für "-wald" sowie die fünf ehemalige Höfe der Gemarkung.English: „Vert , five oak trees Or in ratio 3:2; between the two trees below an upright sword Or.“
The arms were drawn by Kurt Schweder who designed coats of arms for all districts of Essen in die 1980s; they were never official used, but meanwhile recognized by the citizens of Essen and its districts. The arms are canting; the five trees stand for "-wald" (forest)and for the five former courts in the area; the sword for "Stadt-" (City of Essen)File:DEU Essen COA.svg as an attribut of the patron Saints Cosmas and Damian. |
