Deutsch: Seinsheim war Sitz des gleichnamigen Adelsgeschlechtes, das 1147 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wird und bald ausstarb. Ihren Namen übernahmen ehemalige Ministerialen, die seit 1230 belegt sind. 1504 ging der Ort an die von Schwarzenberg über, einer Seitenlinie der von Seinsheim. Seit 1434 ist Seinsheim Markt. Die Stadtrechtsverleihung durch Kaiser Sigismund im gleichen Jahr blieb ungenutzt. Siegel sind erst aus dem späten 16. Jahrhundert durch Abdrucke überliefert. Der Umschrift nach gab es getrennte Siegel für die Gemeinde und das Gericht. Sie unterschieden sich auch im Bild durch die verschiedene Laufrichtung des schrägen Wellenbalkens. Im frühen 19. Jahrhundert gab es nur ein Schriftsiegel. Die drei blauen Pfähle in silbernem Feld weisen auf die Herren von Seinsheim und Schwarzenberg hin. Diese führten einen fünfmal von Silber und Blau bzw. siebenmal von Blau und Silber gespaltenen Schild. Der Schrägbalken ist wohl als Unterscheidungsmerkmal des Gerichtssiegels vom kommunalen Siegel anzusehen. |
