Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Sankt Mauritz, seit 1975 Stadtteil von Münster (Westfalen): „Gespalten durch einen Wellenschnitt vorn in Blau drei versetzt aufrechtstehende goldene (gelbe) Weizenähren und hinten in Gold (Gelb) ein blaues Wassermühlrad mit schwarzen Schaufeln.“
Das Wappen symbolisiert den früheren landwirtschaftlichen Charakter der Gemeinde. Der Wellenschnitt und das blaue Mühlrad stehen die Lage an der Werse und deren Wassermühlen zum Mahlen des Getreides (Ähren).
English: „Party per pale wavy shield azure and Or, three shifty raising wheat ears Or and left rising out of the pale, a water wheel azure with shovels sable.“
The arms show the former agricultural character of the municipality. The pale wavy, the water wheel and the blue colour symbolise the Werse river with its water mills. |
