Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Pont, seit 1969 Stadtteil von Geldern: „In Gold (Gelb) drei rote Mispelblüten (geldrische Rose), 2:1 gestellt.“ Das Wappen von Pont ist ein Schild mit drei Mispeln, die sich eventuell auf die Geschehnisse beziehen, die in der Drachensage erzählt werden. Dieses Wappen war früher auch in der Stadt Geldern in Gebrauch, wurde jedoch durch das heutige Wappen (Blau ein schreitender goldener Löwe, unten begleitet von drei Mispelblüten) ersetzt.
English: „Or, three medlar flowers gules in ratio 2 : 1.“ The arms show three medlar flowers, the oldest symbol of the Counts of Guelders. The only known seal of Pont dates from 1645 and shows the patron saint, St. Anthony.
