Deutsch: Das von Heinz Reise entworfene Wappen wurde am 30. Juni 1956 vom niedersächsischen Innenministerium genehmigt. Der Adler entstammt dem Wappen der ostfriesischen Häuptlingsfamilie Beninga, welche in Pilsum beheimatet waren. Die Deichgabeln, sogenannte Dieksticker erinnern an das Schicksal der Pilsumer und deren Lage direkt hinter dem Deich; sie sind auch Teil des Wappens der bekannten Pilsumer Familie Wiltets. |
