Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Oesdorf seit 1975 Stadtteil von Marsberg: „In Rot eine linksschräge silberne (weiße) Ähre; darüber eine goldene (gelbe) Krone und darunter eine goldene (gelbe) Glocke; alle schwebend.“
Das Gemeindewappen wurde 1966 durch den Innenminister des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen genehmigt. Die Getreideähre steht für die Landwirtschaft; sie stammt aus dem Wappen des ehemaligen Amtes Wünnenberg. Die Glocke symbolisiert die Johanneskirche. Die Krone gilt als eines der Attribute der Mutter Gottes, welches sich wierderum auf die Muttergottesgrotte auf dem Waschhof bezieht; beide Symbole stehen die christliche Tradition der Gemeinde.
English: „Gules, a bendy ear Argent sinister; above a crown Or and below a bell Or; all couped.“
The ear symbolises the agriculture and is derived from the arms of the Amt Wünnenberg, where the village belonged to till 1975. The bell stands for the St. John church and the crown as an attribute of Virgin Mary rembembers on the Virgin Mary Grotto in the village.
