Deutsch: Wappen der Gartenstadt Margarethenhöhe, seit 1905 Stadtteil von Essen: „In Grün eine vierzinnige goldene (gelbe) Bogenmauer; darüber zwei balkenweise silberne (weiße) Margeritenblüten mit goldener (gelber) Butze und darunter im Schildfuß eine Margeritenblüte.“ Das Wappen wurde von Kurt Schweder entworfen und hatte nie offiziellen Charakter. Ende der 1980er Jahre schuf der Heraldiker für alle Essener Stadtteile Wappen. Sie sind inzwischen von der Essener Bevölkerung gut angenommen worden. Das Wappen ist ein sogenanntes "redendes Wappen"; die Margeriten spielen auf den Namen der Stifterin Margarethe Krupp an. Die Zinnenmauer erinnert an die ehemalige Wehranlage Sommerburg sowie die zum Stadtteil führende Brücke über das Mühlenbachtal und der ehemaligen Bahnstrecke Mülheim-Heißen–Altendorf an der Sommerburgstraße.English: „Vert, an four-folded embattled arch wall or bridge, above two oxeye daisy flowers Argent with blebs Or and below one oxeye daisy flower.“
The arms were drawn by Kurt Schweder who designed coats of arms for all districts of Essen in die 1980s; they were never official used, but meanwhile recognized by the citizens of Essen and its districts. The arms are canting; the oxeye daisy flowers symbolise the name of the founder of the garden city, Margarethe Krupp. The wall stand for the old fortification "Sommerburg" and the remarkable bridge above the "Mühlenbachtal". |
