Object history
Deutsch: Kloster Amorbach hatte in Limbach früh Besitz. Bis 1803 gehörte der Ort zum kurmainzischen Oberamt Amorbach, danach zum Fürstentum Leiningen, bis er 1806 an Baden fiel. Erst in leiningischer Zeit ist ein Gemeindesiegel geführt worden (ältester Abdruck 1811), das wie alle Siegel des 19. Jahrhunderts das leiningische Wappen (drei Adler) enthält. Das im Jahre 1909 auf Vorschlag des Generallandesarchivs angenommene Wappen erinnert mit Mitra und Krummstab an die einstigen Amorbacher Rechte und mit den Adlern an Leiningen. 1960 wurde die Tingierung festgelegt, am 6. September 1966 vom Innenministerium die Flagge verliehen. Da die Aussage des Wappens auch auf die 1973 neu gebildete Gemeinde bezogen werden kann, wurde es mit der Flagge vom Landratsamt am 16. August 1976 wieder verliehen.
