Deutsch: Das von Walther Bergmann entworfene Wappen wurde laut Beschluss des Kreistages vom 15.06.1955 am 16. März 1956 vom nordrhein-westfälischen Innenministerium genehmigt. Es zeigt den Limburgischen Löwen. Das schlichtgehaltene Wappen übernimmt somit das Wappen der Edelherren von Montjoie–Valkenburg die bis 1361 Landesherren waren. |
