Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 28. April 1928 vom preußischen Staatsministerium genehmigt. Das mit zu vielen Motiven belastete Wappen verzichtet auf historische Symbole und bezieht sich auf die wichtigsten Erwerbszweige des Kreises, dem Bergbau, der Industrie, der Landwirtschaft und der Schifffahrt auf dem Rhein sowie die Natur mit ihren Wäldern im Norden und Osten des Kreisgebietes. |
