Zwischen den Türmen schwebt ein großes Schild, der auf gespaltenem Feld in Silber (Weiß) vorne einen linksgewendeten, doppelschwänzigen, blaugekrönten, -bezungten und -bewehrten roten Löwen, hinten ein durchgehendes schwarzes Kreuz zeigt.“

Deutsch: Das von Ulf-Dietrich Korn entworfene Wappen wurde am 6. Juli 1972 vom Regierungspräsidenten in Köln genehmigt. Es zeigt die Stadtmauern von Königswinter. Das Kreuz symbolisiert die ehemalige Zugehörigkeit zum Kurfürstentum Köln, der Löwe ist Symbol des Herzogtums Berg, dem große Teile Königswinters angehörten.
