Deutsch: Das Wappen ist dem alten Schöffensiegel Ginderichs entnommen. Die vordere Hälfte des Schildes enthält die Lilienhaspel, auch Glevenkreuz oder Lilienkreuz genannt, des Wappens der Herzöge von Kleve, als Zeichen der Zugehörigkeit der Gemeinde zum Herzogtum Kleve. Das Wappen wurde nie offiziell genehmigt. Es entstammt einem Schöffensiegel, welches die gleichen Symbole, allerdings von einem Vierpass umrahmt zeigt.
English: The arms are derived from an old seal and show the patron saint Virgin Mary with her child combined with the escarbuncle, which symbolises the former belonging to the Duchy of Cleves. |
