Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Buggingen ist am 1. Januar 1974 durch Vereinigung von Buggingen und Seefelden entstanden. Beide Orte gehörten zur Herrschaft Badenweiler, die 1503 an die Markgrafen von Baden gefallen war. Das Wappen ist in ausgewogener Weise aus Motiven der Wappen beider Ortsteile zusammengefügt. Es wurde mit der Flagge am 11. November 1975 vom Innenministerium verliehen. Der Reichsapfel ist dem 1904 gestalteten Bugginger Wappen entnommen und beruht auf der irrigen Deutung des geometrischen Dorfzeichens, das man als Sester ansprechen könnte. Der von drei Sparren belegte Schrägbalken in rotem Feld ist das Wappen der Herrschaft Badenweiler, das auch das untere Feld des seit 1899 geführten Seefelder Wappens bildet. Mit dem Hufeisen ist erstmals das Dorfzeichen Seefeldens in das Wappen aufgenommen worden.
