Summary[edit]

Description
English: The arms of the community of Brauweiler, since 1975 part of the City of Pulheim. "Argent, an eagle sable beaked and membered or, langued gules; in his right claw a crozier or, held behind the torso and in front of the left wing."
The arms were granted in 1927 by the Prussian Ministry of State and are identical to the arms of the Brauweiler Abbey, which were granted to the abbey in 1547 by Emperor Charles V. It was an Imperial Eagle, differenced by the addition of an abbot's crozier. The abbey hardly used the new arms, most often the patron saint, St. Nicholas, was shown on the seals, as had been the custom since the 12th century.
