Deutsch: Birgel (ahd. berga = Berg) früher Birglin, Birgle ist die Verkleinerungsform von Berg, deshalb "redend" der Dreiberg im Wappen. Die Kapelle zu Birgel ist dem hl. Hubertus geweiht, deshalb der silberne Hubertus-Hirschkopf mit Kreuz, dem Attribut des Heiligen.
