Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Hopsten, seit 1975 Ortsteil von Hopsten: „In Grün einer weißer (silberner) nach rechts schreitender Mann im Gehrock, mit Kniebundhosen, Hut und schwarzen Schnallenschuhen, auf dem Rücken eine weiße (silberne) Kiepe, in der Rechten ein weißer (silberner) Stock, in der Linken eine weiße (silberne) Pfeife.“ Der Tödde, ein wandernder Handelsmann, steht für Hopsten. Er soll daran erinnern, dass Hopsten im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Wanderhandels der sogenannten "Tödden" war.
English: „Vert, a walking man Argent with frock, knee breeches, hat, buckled shoes sable, on the back a pannier Argent, in the right a stick Argent and in the left a pipe Argent.“ The arms were granted on December 4, 1969. The man symbolises the "Tödde", a hiking salesman. The village was well known for this traditional trading in the 18th and 19th century.
