Description
English: A Douglas DC-2 passenger aircraft takes off from Washington-Hoover Airport in Washington, D.C., in the United States in 1935. The plane is passing over Military Road, a public highway which passed directly across the runway between 1933 (when the airport was formed) and 1938. Highway Bridge (now known as the 14th Street Bridge) over the Potomac River can be seen in the background.
