Summary

[edit]
Description
English: DB "Vitrine" at the Musée Matra, Romorantins, France. This car began as chassis no 1092, with barquette bodywork and a 744cc Panhard engine. In this shape it competed in Le Mans 1959 (DNF). For 1960 it was given a glasshouse for better aerodynamics (hence the nickname) and the new chassis number 1283. It's engine was an 851cc Panhard two-cylinder, sleeved down to 848cc to fit the 850cc category. In this form it competed at Le Mans in both 1960 and 1961, with a 19th and 21st place finish respectively.
