Have the combining tube in position toallow a sufficient quantity of water to condense thesteam when the starting valve is full open, then openthe starting valve slightly; when water shows at over-flow, open full. Regulate the water by moving thecombining tube. To use as a heater, close overflowby moving the combining tube up against the dis-charge, then open starting valve enough to admit thequantity^of steam required.
