Description
English: Cruttonstall farmstead. Cruttonstall meaning ‘crooked land or farmstead’ is situated close to the Pennine Way leading up to Stoodley Pike.

Cruttonstall-in-Erringden is shown as Crumbetonestun in the Domesday Book (1086) written under orders of William the Conqueror.

The present ruin dates from the early 17th century with 19th century additions.
