| Description |
English: Crowshore Plantation, Routh, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Looking south-southeast along the track through Crowshore Plantation towards Hall Farm, west of Routh. Just north of here is a slender mast, presumably for an anemometer used to test the suitability of the area for a proposed wind farm. On 8th February 2007 it was reported that East Riding of Yorkshire councillors had refused a planning application by Ridgewind Ltd to site twelve 100-metre high turbines here, which the applicants claimed would supply electricity for about 12,000 homes, or nine per cent of households in the East Riding. The main objection was that the turbines would be visible behind Beverley Minster in the view from Beverley Westwood. |
