Description Lot 11611-7: Liberation of France, Cherbourg, France, Summer 1944. Crowd gathers before Allied picture display in Cherbourg crowd around a picture display in the windows of the Psychological Warfare Division of the Allied Expeditionary Force. Cut off from the world during the four years of Nazi occupation, civilians from the Normandy beach village to the great port city were found hungry for news and pictures.
