English: Crossroads of Meltham Road with the old turnpike road, Marsden. This turnpike road started climbing earlier than the one that became the A62, and passed Pule Hill on the south side rather than the north side. Here it crosses the Marsden to Meltham road, which looks like a turnpike road but seems not to have been and was perhaps set out during the enclosure of moorland. |
