Description
English: Tāq Kasrā, also known as the Arch of Ctesiphon, is often cited as an example of early architecture that incorporates the catenary arch shape. This ancient Persian monument, located near Baghdad, Iraq, was part of the Sasanian palace complex of Ctesiphon. The arch is notable for its large size and impressive span, and while it may not be a perfect catenary curve, it exhibits a similar shape that is characteristic of the catenary
