There is in the game of Croquet a great opportunity for dis-playing ones ability, judgment, nerve, coolness and boldness ofplay, A valuable discipline comes to the eye in connection withthe movements of the hand. But the game of Croquet is peculiar. In a game like base ball, or lawn tennis, mere quickness issometimes the great desideratum. But the deliberation that canbe manifested in Croquet has hardly a parallel in the entireround of athletic sports.
