On note que les yeux du poisson ne sont pas tout à fait à l'emplacement optimal ; ceci peut être dû aux erreurs de mesures, vu la difficulté de ces mesures de pression sur des poissons vivants. Çengel et Cimbala, p. 549 de leur ouvrage FLUID MECHANICS, Fundamentals and Applications, 3d edition, McGrawHill, donnent une courbe où les yeux sont placés juste au point de Cp nul, mais sans citer leur source (cette source est sans doute la même, à savoir DuBois et coll.).
Cette vitesse est tirée de la pression dynamique donnée par le graphe de DuBois et coll.

Le Cp mini sur le dos est 0,6, ce qui donne un Cv de 1,265, en application de la variante adimensionnelle de l'équation de Bernoulli (à savoir Cp+Cv²=1). La vitesse à cette abscisse est donc ~8 km/h. En ordre de grandeur, cette survitesse maximale est assez classique pour un corps profilé.
