Dès l'arrivée des Japonais, des contacts sont pris par certains Français avec les « Résistants » dans le Sud-est asiatique : Anglais dans les États Malais, Américains en Chine.

Des contacts sont pris aussi avec Alger après l'invasion allemande de la zone «non occupée» en France. Un état-major clandestin est crée sous couvert d'un Bureau de Statistiques Militaires en liaison avec l'organisation anglaise de «renseignements et d'action» dans les territoires occupés par les Japonais, la «Force 136».

Ces opposants au régime de l'Amiral Decoux sont placés en «résidence forcée».

Carte postale expédiée de France à une personne qui résidait à Saigon et qui se trouve en résidence forcée à Long Xuyen (Cochinchine). Le cachet de la «Police de l'Indochine» sert de marque de censure.La carte avec censure allemande de Francfort est passée par le transibérien. Arrivée Saigon 15 septembre 1942.
