Description
English: Cowside Beck and upper Littondale From Monk's Road path. The grassed over grooves on the slope above the beck are where the road ran before it was surfaced. When one route became worn and muddy the traffic (horses, carts, people) would choose a way just to one side. Nowadays it's called footpath erosion.
