| Description |
Cortinarius poppyzon Image location: Ugut, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug—Yugra, Russia collected in a burn site in old Scots pine forest partially overgrown with Pinus sylvestris and Betula pubescens, among feather mosses and lingonberry. Flesh was very cottony which I attributed to dry weather, but it seems to be a feature of this species. Spores ca. 6.5-8 × 4-5 µm. Recognized by sight Used references: Soop’s Cortinarius in Sweden Based on microscopic features
