Summary[edit]

Description

Cortinarius glandicolor (Fr.) Fr.

Image location: Ugut, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug—Yugra, Russia

The typical form in dry Cladonia parts of our Scots pine forest. They can get huge sometimes (15 cm tall maybe, and quite massive) and are often streaky-hygrophanous on the pale side, and not very striate. It’s quite different from the very slender, dark, striate-capped form occuring in treed peatbogs, although they have similar spores.
