Description

Cortinarius callimorphus Bojantchev & R.M. Davis

Image location: Caspar, California, USA

Growing near mixed conifers, Sitka spruce dominant. Caps up to 4.5 cm across. Spores ~ 8.2-10.9 X 5.2-7.0 microns, moderately rough with a apical beak. KOH on cap was red. KOH on flesh was slowly reddish. These were relatively small and pretty wormy so it’s difficult to say how typical they are.
