English: Detail of table 13 of the series of paintings on the Spanish Conquest of Mexico by the New-Spanish artists Juan González and Miguel González, painted in 1698.
The detail depicts the coronation of Ixtlilxochitl II as tlatoani of Texcoco in 1520 after the previous tlatoani Cacamatzin is arrested. This event was largely unfluenced by the Spanish captain Hernán Cortés, who was the main commander of the Spanish troops who arrived at Mexico in 1519 and later conquered it in 1521.
