Copper alloy post-medieval sword belt fitting.
Description
English: Copper alloy sword belt fitting dating from the 17th century.The oval plate has a voided, curve-armed cross with a flower motif made up of 9 annulets at the centre.In the crescents formed by the cross are lines of larger annulets.At one end is a rounded pierced attachment-knop.This has a small projection and has 9 small ring and dot motifs around the hole. There is a slightly projecting ridged collar at the junction of the plate with the hook.There is a rivet hole near the collar which retains a separate copper-alloy rivet.
