Title
Copper alloy object of unknown date or function.
Description
English: Unidentified copper alloy object of unknown date. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and wedge shaped in section. The back of the object is plain but the front appears to have decoration. This decoration comprises three parallel grooves running the full width of the object approximately 5mm from the top edge of the object. There is also a single groove running the full width of the object approximately 4mm from the bottom edge of the object. The apparent 'criss cross' marks in the image appear to be post-depositional damage. The right-hand end of the object appears to be complete and is slightly rounded. The left-hand end, however, appears to have a broken edge which is wedge shape in section, with the thick end of the wedge at the top. The object has a dark green patina.

Length: 63.25mm; width: 23.86mm; thickness: 2.10mm; weight: 14.2g
