Description |
English: A post-medieval copper alloy, double loop oval buckle dating c. 1550-1650AD. The buckle has mould decorated rosettes on the outer edge of each loop and at either end of the strap bar. There are scroll decoration between the rosettes. The reverse of the buckle is undecorated. The pin is missing.
Length 41.7mm; width 26.2mm; thickness 2.6mm; weight: 7.0g See Whitehead 1996 No. 418 for an almost identical published example. |
