Description
English: Copper alloy coin weight for a guinea of post medieval date (c1773-1800AD). The weight is rectangular with moulded lettering on one side only with Pwt Gr (for pennyweight and grains) above the numbers 5:8 above GUINEA. It has an anchor countermark for the Birmingham Assay Office. For a similar published example see Withers 2011, pg. 64 No. W.2073D.
