Description
English: A complete post-medieval square copper alloy coin weight dating c1577-1603 produced in Antwerp by Hans Foncq. The obverse depicts a ship with the letter R next to the mast. This R indicates that the weight is to weigh a Rose noble or Ryal. The reverse depicts an upright right hand for Antwerp and flanked by the initials HF for Hans Foncq. There is a number 8 above the H which may indicate the date in the 1580s

Length: 14.67mm; width: 14.38mm; thickness: 2.10mm; weight: 2.9g
