Italiano: Due coni sono tangenti tra loro quando hanno una stessa generatrice in comune
per esempio in figura i due coni che hanno vertici in V e W ed hanno in comune la generatrice g sono tangenti tra loro. secondo il detto concetto, un ipotesi può essere la seguente: "In tutti i casi in cui sono date due coni con vertici qualsiasi (distinti, coincidenti) e con assi principali qualsiasi (incidenti o sghembi) e' possibile determinare un terzo cono tangenti ai dati coni." I detti due coni dati possono assumere tra loro i seguenti due posizioni:
I casi che sono stati affrontati fino a desso riguardava il caso A, ovvero quando i due coni hanno assi complanari. I sotto casi di A sono:
In tutti in i casi della sotto categoria A (in cui i due coni hanno assi complanari) esiste un piano tangenti a tali coni. Invece l'eventuale esistenza di un terzo cono tangente si e' verificata nel sotto caso A2 solo quando i dati due coni sono corrispondenti tra loro.
