Dansk: Et komplekst tal z kan fastlægges både ved sine kartesiske koordinater (a,b) (som z = a+b*i) og ved sine polære koordinater <r, phi> (som z = r*exp(Phi*i)).
Figuren viser modulus r = |z| og argument phi = arg(z) for dels det komplekse tal z = 4 + 3*i, dels det konjugerede tal zStreg og dels for w = -3.5 - 2*i (med polære koordinater <s, psi>]. Argumentet kan vælges at ligge i vinkelintervallet ]-180 °, 180 °] (brugt ved zStreg) eller i intervallet [0 °, 360 °[ (brugt ved w).English: A complex number z can be specified by its cartesian coordinates (a,b) (as z = a+b*i) and by its polar coordinates <r, phi> (as z = r*exp(Phi*i)).
The figure shows modulus r = |z| and argument phi = arg(z) for the complex number z = 4 + 3*i, for its conjugate zBar and for the number w = -3.5 - 2*i (with polar coordinates <s, psi>). The value of the argumentet can be chosen to lie in the interval ]-180 °, 180 °] (used for zBar) or in the interval [0 °, 360 °[ (used for w). |
