Description
English: A complete lead spindle whorl, dating from the medieval period (c1200-1500AD). The whorl is made up of a central biconical body decorated with a zig-zag line. This is attached, at the 4 cardinal points, to an outer "ring” that has "rope" like decoration. This ring varies in thickness between 2.4mm and 2.9mm. The central perforation has an internal diameter of approximately 9.7mm. The whorl has a powdery white patina.
