Complete copper-alloy bi-convex hollow button dating to the 18th century.
Description
English: Complete copper-alloy button dating to the 18th century (c. 1700-1800AD). The button is hollow and bi-convex with a domed front and back made from copper alloy sheets that have been soldered together forming a lateral rim.  The button is undecorated.  The rear of the button has two circular blow holes, each measuring 3.3mm in diameter either side of a integrally cast suspension loop which has become compressed.

Diameter: 17.4mm; thickness (exc. loop): 12.6mm; thickness (inc. loop): 15.3mm; weight: 3.3g
