English:

The First Washington Volunteer Infantry was formed in May of 1898 at Camp Rogers, south of Tacoma, for service in the Spanish-American War. Over 1,000 men of the regiment served in the Philippines from November 1898 to September 1899. Company D was one of two companies from Seattle. This photograph of the company was a standard set up for group photographs taken before deployment, with the photographer B. F. Rahmeyer taking similar shots of companies from other parts of Washington and other states.
