| Description |
English: Coming up to Plaster Down. Notice the 40mph speed limit sign. This speed limit is in force over large areas of Dartmoor National Park. It has caused controversy. The signs themselves are criticised by some on the grounds that they are large and garish, do not suit the 'unspoilt' nature of the countryside and tend to encourage the idea that Dartmoor is some sort of theme park. It has also been noted that the speed limit does not appear to have decreased the number of animals killed by cars. |
