Description
English: Comilla District School is one of the oldest educational institutions in Comilla. Located at Kandirpara in Comilla town. Comilla Zilla School has been in the first place in Comilla Board of Education in SSC examination for several years and is in the top ten in the whole of Bangladesh. The school was founded in 1837 by an English teacher named H. G. Leicester. He was the first headmaster of this school. The government later transformed the school into a government high school for teaching English literature and science and renamed it Comilla District School. In 1936, the centenary of the establishment of Comilla District School was celebrated. After 1971, Comilla District School became the best secondary school in Comilla Board of Education.

The school is divided into morning and day branches. Teaching is done from fifth class to tenth class. There are 6 branches in each of the 5th to 8th classes. These are morning a, b and c and day a, b and c. There are four branches in ninth and tenth class. These are morning a and b and day a and b. At present the number of students in the school is 2000 and the number of teachers is 53. School uniform flower or half sleeve white shirt, white pants and white shoes. Blue sweater in winter. The school's monogrammed badge is attached to the book pocket of the shirt.

Students get admission in fifth and sixth class. Admission test is held in January. A student can get admission in fifth and sixth class through transfer certificate from any other government school.

The whole school is divided into 4 houses. These are Abu Zahid House (color akashi), Dhirendranath Dutta House (color red), Kazi Nazrul Islam House (color yellow) and Hossain Chowdhury House of Motah (color blue). Every year competitions are held in the houses on various subjects including sports.

Apart from education, the students of this school also participate in Bangladesh National Cadet Corps, Scout, Athletics, Cricket and Football Competitions, Debate Competitions, Various Cultural Events, Anniversary and Other Magazine Publications, Mathematics and Language Competitions, Science Fairs and Educational Tours.
