Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The tail of comet 12P/Pons-Brooks as i captured it on Monday evening.

I'm currently very busy at work and at home, so for now only a quick processing of the L channel: calibration, registration to the comet, composition (no star removal or other sophisticated methods). Stretch and in PS applied local contrast on the comet head to make the overexposed parts visible, crop - and done.

The image is a stack of 34 shots at 60s on ASI 2600MM Pro camera, 11" Celestron EDGE HD optics with Hyperstar reducer (effective focal length 538mm, f/1.9). EQ6R mount, guided, controlled by ASIAir Plus.

Exposed on 4th March 2024 between 18:50 and 19:39 UTC from The Netherlands.
