Description
English: Comet Encke, two prints from the same plate, exposed for 30 minutes on January 6, 1961, with the 40-inch reflector of the U.S. Naval Observatory. Top: printed to high density to show the position of the nuclear condensation at the upper right edge of the coma. Bottom: printed with higher contrast to show the tail extending to the right of the coma for some distance.
