This specimen of colonial coral is called Syringopora surcularia and was collected from the Redwall Limestone, which is early to late Mississippian in age (358-325 million years ago). It was collected from a site between Lake Mead and the Grand Canyon by Edward Schenk in 1936. 71mm 2.8 in.
