Au premier plan, un personnage, vude dos, est assis et tourne la tête du côté des instrumentistes. A droite,sappuyant contre la jambe du roi. un enfant parait apeuré par cesclameurs. Sur la table, des fruits, des gauffres, des olives, des verres, etc.Sous la table, au milieu, une bassine de cuivre et une cruche de grès àcouvercle de métal. Toile. Haut., i m. 97; lart;., 2 m. 43. Signé à droite, en bas : (Ma(A 74 COLLECTION EMILE PACULLY GOYEN (VAN) J*° à N° 40Bords de la Meuse, effet du soir. Au premier plan, à gauche, une barque chargée de personnages sedirige vers la rive de droite où sont amarrés quelques voiliers. Un grandmoulin se silhouette sur le ciel nuageux. Il est coiffé dune toque de veloursnoir, qui projette sur le front une ombre épaisse encore que transpa-rente. La lumière frappe pleinement la joue, le nez puissant, la boucheouverte, qui laisse apparaître des dents inégales et les cheveux châtainclair. La poitrine et les épaules sont protégées par un gorgerin dacierbruni. Par-dessus, une sorte décharpe est nouée autour du cou. Il sembleentrain déchanter sans effort quelque vieux lied détudiant.
