The Lincoln Creek Lumber Company's logging operations were in business from ca. 1906 to ca. 1932, with headquarters in Centralia and logging operations based at Galvin. Galvin is a community four miles northwest of Centralia near Lincoln Creek in northwest Lewis County. On June 3, 1910, it was platted by Galvin, Teal Company. In 1911, it was named for John Galvin, the town's founder. Before platting, it had been called Lincoln. A cold deck is a stack of logs left in the woods for later transportation.
